Description Of Item: Two 'Botany' lever arch files, mottled black board covers, 285 x 315 mm, containing the agenda papers and minutes of the Optometrists Registration Board of Victoria from September 1980 to February 1996. Also included are (1) the Board's Annual Reports for 1981 to 1994 (1982, 1987 and 1992 are missing), and (2) the speech of the Chairman, Peter Dwyer, at the Board's annual dinner in 1995.
Historical Significance: These papers cover the period in health regulation when restraints on advertising and practice ownership were liberalised.
How Acquired: Donated by Peter Dwyer OAM, Melbourne optometrist and member of the ORB 1982 to 1995 and Chairman for 10 years
