Vials are labelled Formula 55 UV Tint with parameters of 8.6/14.2/-1.50 Expiry date 07/02. Lenses are tinted light green, mid green and dark green. Historical Significance: Transparent tinted soft contact lenses were tinted primarily to make handling of the lenses easier with little effect on eye colour of dark coloured eyes. Light eye colour could be enhanced or altered and different depths of tint could provide different effects. Ultraviolet absorbing tints were included in soft contact lenses from the mid 1990s.
