Description Of Item: Timber case, blackwood (?), 435 mm W x 315 mm D x 60 mm H, with hinged lid and press button timber closing catch, The case is fitted to take lenses, namely 32 pairs each of unrimmed concave and convex spherical lenses and 21 pairs each of unrimmed concave and convex cylindrical lenses. Some lenses are hand etched with their power specified in inches others in dioptres, spherical to 2.5 inches (16 D) and cylindrical to 5.5 inch (7 D cyl). There are two further compartments, one containing miscellaneous lenses and other to hold a trial frame (missing).
