Case is stamped on top with W M PETTIT / CERTIFIED OPTICIAN / WARRAGUL / PHONE 178 Historical Significance: Shuron is a very well known optical products manufacturer founded in 1865. W M Pettit was one of the first optometrists to be registered in Victoria in 1936 (See Cat No 888) although he was in practice as a jeweller/optician before registration of optometrists commenced in 1936.
