Historical Significance: Dr Montague Ruben MED Y, CIRUG University of Barcelona) FRCS FCOph, DOMS, LCCP was an English ophthalmologist who was influential in the development of contact lenses in the 1970s and 1980s. He was the consultant ophthalmologist and Director of the Contact Lens and Prosthetics Department at Moorfields Eye Hospital and visiting professor in the Department of Optometry at the City University, London.
