Description Of Item: Five screw top containers each 25 x 55 x 15 mm with 'Hoya Soft Contact Lens' and stylised 'H' embossed on cap, each containing one soft contact lens. Containers have a number from 2 to 6 and lens parameters printed on the flat plastic extension of the container. Lens curvatures are from 7.8mm to 9.00mm in 0.3mm steps. Each lens has the word Hoya and a number, also from 2 to 6 printed on it in pink
Historical Significance: By the 1980s a large number of manufacturers were producing soft contact lenses. Hoya 38% water content lenses were one of those available in Australia. The involvement of Hoya in Australia was for a limited time. The company still manufactures a full range of contact lenses which it retails through its clinics in Japan.
