Description Of Item: Collection of art work and imprints of the coat of arms (crest) of the Victorian Optical Association comprising (1) original art work of a version of the VOA coat of arms, 140 x 152 mm, without a crest or banner, and encircled by the words 'VICTORIAN OPTICAL ASSOCIATION' across the top and the words 'FOUNDED 1911' at the bottom, with paper covering flap on which is a seal imprint of the crest and the words 'Seal 1 5/5' (2) draft art work on card, 110 x 156 mm, cut from a diploma, of a version of the coat of arms which has a crest of a sun and spectacles and a banner bearing motto 'ars nostra lucem oculis dat', (3) small paper cutting with an imprint of the coat of arms with crest and banner, (4) three small paper cuttings with an imprint of some elements of the coat of arms with the word 'MEMBER' above, one of which is stamped with the date Aug 1933 and printer instructions, (5) seven 'with compliments' cards,165 x 100 mm, cream card with the coat of arms and the words 'With the compliments of the President and Council of the Victorian Optical Association 1911-1932', (6) paper cutting with a pencil design of both sides of a honours medal to be awarded to John Nathan LOSc (the first diplomate of the College) by the Australian College of Optometry, with the College coat of arms on the obverse and the name of the intended awardee on the reverse with the dates he was a student of the College 1941-1944, all contained in a brown envelope bearing the words in pencil 'VOA Drawings for blocks'
