Flyers have 'Crazy Lenses' and pictures of 7 lens designs printed on them. The accompanying information describes the lenses as Monthly disposable. Box contains 7 blister packs each containing an opaque tinted 38% Hema soft contact lens in designs described as Fire, White, Spiral Red, Spiral Black, Blood Red, Wolf and Cat Eye and 7 empty screw top vials, which could be used to store the lenses once the blister was opened, in a foam plastic insert with 7 x 2 recesses.
Historical Significance: Opaque soft contact lenses were designed as a novelty for short term wear. Oxygen transmission was low due to the opaque coating as well as the thick low water content material used. Cost rather than comfort reduced their usage.
