Description Of Item: Silver zippered bag, 220 x 160 x 65 mm, with blue binding with the words 'Bausch & Lomb Thermal Care System printed on the bottom right hand corner containing an electric thermal disinfectiion unit (Cat. N0 50912, Ser. No 326002), blue B & L Deluxe lens case, two clear cylindrical vials marked R and L for enzymatic protein remover use, instruction booklets and leaflets for the thermal unit (Copyright 1982), enzymatic cleaner, deluxe case, lens cleaning for daily cleaner (2) and warning leaflet re damage to unit.
Historical Significance: Bausch & Lomb provided practitioners with complete disinfection packs for sale to patients for either thermal or chemical disinfection systems. The thermal disinfection pack provided starter size bottles of solutions and instructions for the patient new to contact lens wear. The museum holds another example of the thermal unit only (Cat. no. 2029)
