Description Of Item: Rimless oval-eye pince-nez with gold sprung 'Fits-U' style bridge and gold ear hook and chain. Bridge stamped '1/20 10ct'. metal snap case covered with maroon leather and faded 'COLES & GARRARD' sticker to rear. Remnants of owner's name and telephone number inside case: 'M.MORGAN CENT 2939'. 96mm x 31mm.
Historical Significance: These glasses were given to John McGibbony by a Mrs Sparrow (or Swallow?) who claimed that they were the first pair of spectacles dispensed by Coles & Garrard. No authentication is available.
