Description Of Item: Bausch & Lomb May ophthalmoscope. Head of black enamelled metal. Battery handle of black painted brass with aluminium screw-on cap. Single disc of lenses; plus and minus 1-6, 8, 10, 12,15, 20 and minus 25. reverse of head impressed 'U.S PAT 2,080,844'. Stored in Keeler case. Instrument: 245mm L x 42mm W x 38mm D.
Historical Significance: U.S. Patent 2 080 844 was granted to C H O Wittig on May 18 1937. The application was filed on August 21 1934.
