Tasks are: Engineering blueprint, 3 pages of print (Jaeger 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 extracts from David Copperfield Ch 36 and Ch 54, a piece of black cloth with white stitching of two different sizes, an extract from the financial pages of The Times, a sample of a hand-written ledger, columns of figures, a sample of shorthand and a typewritten extract from David Copperfield Ch. 2. Inside the front cover is a gold sticker with the words 'C G Jenkin, FVOA, Jeweller and Optician, 50 Glenferrie Road, Malvern, U 1158 and Est 1898 Historical Significance: Charles G Jenkin was a Malvern optometrist, son of Walter Jenkin, a jeweller who was registered as an optometrist based on experience in the initial registration of optometrists in Victoria in 1936 (Reg. No. 262). Charles completed an apprenticeship as a jeweller and also qualified as an optometrist with the qualification F.V.O.A. in 1943. He retired in 1977. The telephone number would have been current up to the early 1950s and suggests that could have been one of Mr. Jenkin's first pieces of equipment.
