Historical Significance: Surevue Contact Lenses were introduced by Johnson & Johnson in 1991 in addition to the Acuvue range. In Europe they were sold as a monthly disposable, daily wear lens and in the USA as a two weekly disposable daily wear lens. This was to provide a thicker, more easily handled lens and to provide an alternative to Acuvue which some practitioners still looked on as an extended wear lens, Surevue was discontinued in 2005.
