Hardback, white cloth covers, 200 x 228 mm, illustrated dust cover with clear plastic protective cover, 178 pages, including index of exhibition items, Introduction of 13 pages of text in two sections,one on 'Spectacles over seven hundred years' by G. L'E Turner and the second on 'Eyeglasses and Art' by Claus Baumann, both with short biographies. The remaining pages before the index are 108 illustrations, some in colour, of the 108 exhibition items. Presentation plate inside front cover acknowledging the donation of the book by Michael Aitken. Library stickers on spine and borrowing card inside back cover. Historical Significance: This is a catalogue of an exhibition first shown in the United Kingdom at the National Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh in 1988/89.
