Historical Significance: Irvin Borish (1913-2012) was a much loved and admired American optometrist who practised in Kokomo, Indiana and taught at Indiana University. He is best known for his textbook 'Clinical Refraction' first published in 1949 (3rd Edition 1975) Borish (1913- ) Cat No 140. Borish studied optometry (OD ) at the Northern Illinois College of Optometry (1934) and in addition to being a noteworthy optometrist and optometric teacher was also a fine artist.
