Description Of Item: Brown stiff card covers, 220 x 218 mm, spirex bound, contained in a bronze coloured multi-fold presentation folder with the book title 'Borish' embossed on the front fold, 52 pages, presenting numerous colour illustrations of paintings by Irvin Borish with an editors introduction and a number of reminisces and testimonials to Borish.
Historical Significance: Irvin Borish (1913-2012) was a much loved and admired American optometrist who practised in Kokomo, Indiana and taught at Indiana University. He is best known for his textbook 'Clinical Refraction' first published in 1949 (3rd Edition 1975) Borish (1913- ) Cat No 140. Borish studied optometry (OD ) at the Northern Illinois College of Optometry (1934) and in addition to being a noteworthy optometrist and optometric teacher was also a fine artist. This book is a tribute to Borish and shows his talent as an artist.
