Description Of Item: 254 pages plus advertisements. Illustrated. TWO COPIES. On the front fly leaf of copy 1 there is an old ownership inscription for Harold Ternes, a Melbourne optometrist in the first half of the 20th C.
Historical Significance: This is a manual on the practice of optometry consisting mostly of case histories. CH Brown was medically qualified and is described on the title page as Professor of Optics and Refraction at an unstated university. He is described as a graduate of the University of Philadelphia, a former physician at the Philadelpia Hospital and a member of the medical society in that State. The Keystone publishing company published a journal called the 'The Keystone' which was the organ of the Jewelry and Optical Trades.
