Historical Significance: This is the 4th edition of a work first published in 1903. It deals mostly with refractive errors and ocular muscle imbalance. The illustrations include several in colour and there are some good representations of contemporary instrumentation. Ernest Clarke CVO, MD (1881), MD (1885), FRCS (1894) (1857 - 1933) was a successful ophthalmologist practising in London and with appointments to several hospitals.
