Description Of Item: Original cloth cover, 167 pp, 70 figures in text and 9 colour plates.
Historical Significance: First edition was published in 1911 (See Cat no 258). A second copy of the second edition is at Cat No 88. James Forrest MB ChB held appointments at several London hospitals. According to the preface the book was written to provide a general knowledge of eye diseases. The intended readership is not clear but it could have been for opticians since the book was proof read by a Mr H L Taylor who is the author of books on optics and bifocals.
