There are some notes on page 657 probably made by Padman. John Parsons FRS DSc MBBS FRCS (1868 - 1957) was a distinguished British ophthalmologist who concentrated on the understanding the pathology of eye disease. He published a 4 vol 'Pathology of the Eye' in 1904-8. This book was widely used by ophthalmologists in training and by optometry students in the 1950s particularly. It ran to many ediitions, the first being in 1907 and continued as Parson's Diseases of the Eye with other authors. The 18th edition was by Stephen Miller and published in 1990. See Duke Elder S.
