Description Of Item: 353 pages plus advertisements, 148 illustrations. Ownership inscription 'Ida Ghent 1921'. Ida Ghent was one of the first woman optometrists in Victoria. Enclosed loosely in the back is a single leaf being an examination paper for the Victorian Optical Association 2nd year Feb 1921.
Historical Significance: This is a basic textbook on refraction and other aspects of optometry and may have been one of the standard texts in the course of the Victorian Optical Association in the 1920s. The Keystone Publishing Company published a journal called the 'The Keystone' which was the organ of the Jewelry and Optical Trades.
