Historical Significance: Sir Henry Swanzy (18?4-1913) received his MD degree at Dublin in 1865 and studied in Berlin under von Graefe before setting up an ophthalmic practice in Dublin. He was President of the Ophthalmological Society of the UK 1897-9 and of the Royal College of Surgeons 1906-8. Swanzy gave the Bowman lecture in 1888 and had earlier written an an Atlas of ophthalmoscopy 1870. See First edition of this book Cat No 328.
