Historical Significance: Flavel Tiffany (1846-1918) is described as an optometrist physician in 'A Memorial and Biographical Record of Kansas City and Jackson County, Mo.' 1896, and as coming to Kansas City in 1887 as a Union Civil War veteran. He lived in 'Tiffany Castle' a house resembling a European castle built 1908 (see pic). He wrote some 18 books on the eye muscles, strabismus, skin grafts of the orbit, diseases of the eye as well as travel books and memoirs
