Historical Significance: Richard Lindsay was a staff optometrist from 1985, the first year after he completed his optometry course at the University of Melbourne, to 1997. He developed expertise in contact lens practice and was head of contact lens clinics from 1990 to 1997. He was Chief Optometrist from 1995 to 1997 and a principal teacher in contact lenses. He resigned to estabish his own private practice as a specialist contact lens practitioner. He has also published many research and clinical papers.
