Historical Significance: These two monographs present important and comprehensive summaries of data on absorption by the media of the eye in Fasc 1 and on the optics of the eye and accommodation in Fasc 4. Dr ten Doesschate was from the University Eye Hospital in Utrecht in the Netherlands and Dr Bruckner was from Basel. ten Doesschate has 39 papers on Pubmed from 1948 to 1982 including an early highly technical report of tritanopia A case of tritanopy.
