Description Of Item: Original paper wrapper, 31 pages of text with unnumbered interleaving pages, text duplicated by roneograph and diagrams hand drawn and coloured and tipped in. Also 14 loose plates. Latimer's signature appears on the front. Manuscript is annotated with notes and alterations. Enclosed is a letter dated 11 November 1981 from Geoff Morris, a Melbourne optometrist, indicating that copy of the notes had been donated by Mrs Latimer through him.
Historical Significance: H S Latimer was lecturer in the part-time evening course run by the Victorian Optical Association (now OAA Victoria) for the Fellowship of the Victorian Optical Association, which was the Victorian optometry qualification from 1913 to 1940.
