Description Of Item: Rimless pince-nez with irregular octagonal shaped lightly tinted CR39 plano lenses, spring finger-piece gold bridge. Bridge stamped with 'AOC' logo for American Optical Company and '1/10 2'. Contained in a black mottled snap case, blue velvet lined and gold stamped underneath OPHTHALMIC / OPTICIAN/ PERCY BINGEMAN LONDON HOUSE / / 2ND FLOOR / 97 ELIZABETH ST / MELBOURNE. Dimensions Pince-nez 98 x 36 mm, Case 125 x 48 mm.
Historical Significance: This pince nez may have been for use in theatrical performance as it has plano CR39 lenses. It is unlikely that the case originally belonged to them.
