Historical Significance: This book is a classic text on ophthalmic dispensing written by a person foremost in the field. The first ediiton was published in 1967 and the last was the 4th ediiton 1984.(This copy is 4th ed reprinted 1988). Mo Jalie was the Head of Department of Applied Optics at City & Islington College from 1986 to 1995 where he taught optics, ophthalmic lenses and dispensing from 1964. Subsequently he was Visiting Professor to the optometry course at the University of Ulster in Coleraine. He also wrote 'Practical ophthalmic lenses' 1974; 'Tables for surfacing instruction' 1972 : 'Spectacle crown glass and CR 39' 1972; 'Toric lenses, toric transposition'. 1988 and 'Ophthalmic lenses and dispensing' 2003.
