Historical Significance: This is a promotional booklet produced by an English ophthalmic supplies company written by a well known teacher and writer on the subject of ophthalmic lenses, who also wrote 'Spectacle fitting and optical dispensing' 1950 (see cat No 776) and 'The principles and practice of optical dispensing and fitting' 1962 and 1975. Sasieni was a Fellow of the British Optical Association and of the Specatcle Makers Company and was in the 1950s senior refractionist at the London Refraction Hospital (now the Institute of Optometry), a registered charity established in 1922. It operates a clinic and provides post-graduate clinical training and continuing education.
