Historical Significance: Lawrence Dailey MD was an New York ophthalmologist. His book concentrates on refractive errors but there is much else on eye conditions. The format is questions and answers (ie a catechism). Dailey is described as formerly assistant in the eye department of the Post-Graduate Medical School and Hospital, New York City and as Ophthalmologist and Otologist to the Nathan Litaurer Hospital Gloversville NY. Gloversville, where this book was published, is a small town 100 km north of Albany, the capital of New York State
