Description Of Item: Single fold salmon colour card, being the program for the Centenary Optometrical Congress of the Victorian Optical Association held November 12 to 17 1934
Historical Significance: The centenary being celebrated was the centenary of the first white settlement of Victoria by William Henty in Portland on Noveber 19 1834. The program had lectures by EH Jabara, WG Kett and VC Simon from NSW, EA Sargent from New Zealand and HS Bell from Melbourne and others. There was a Golf Tournament at Woodlands links and a Motor outing to the Dandenong ranges to which the ladies were especially invited. The lectures were given in part in the Central Hall Little Collins Street and at 177 Collins Street. There was a dinner in the Victoria Palace in Little Collins Street.
