Description Of Item: Green card 165 mmW x 135 mm H, single fold, being the program of the Tenth State Optometrical Convention held Monday October 24 to Thursday October 27 1932 held at the Institute's rooms at 74 Pitt St Sydney.
Historical Significance: The convention was opened by the Minister for Health, the Hon RWD Weaver MLA. Lectures were given by VC Simon FIO, CG McDonald FIO, B Adcock FIO WG Kett FSMC and a dental surgeon. Simon spoke on measuring blood pressure with a clincial demonstration. Kett spoke on slit lamp biomicroscopy, also with a demonstration. There was a dinner (and dance) at the Waldorf in George Street for which evening dress was optional, a golf day in the morning of the second day and a motor outing leaving from Martin Place in the afternoon to which Lady friends were particularly invited.
