Description Of Item: Single sheet white paper, 2 folds making a 5 page leaflet setting out the business agenda, educational and social program of the AOA conference held in Melbourne October 6th to 10th 1930
Historical Significance: The meeting considered the constitution of the Federal AOA, which had been a controversial matter since the frist conference in 1918. At this the 10th conference Western Australia withdrew from the AOA because of the decisions made. See Wright S History of Australian Optometry. Chapter 11. Note that the lecturers were WG Kett (NSW), R Stewart Padman (Tas), A Knapp, (WA) CW Kett and E Goetz (Vic). The social events included a Civic reception at the Melbourne Town Hall, a luncheon at the Victoria Hotel, and a Motor trip to the Dandenong ranges.
