Historical Significance: In the second half of the 20thC, optometrists were increasingly recognised as persons able to give opinions on visual fitness for various occupations. Previously this was the sole province of the medical profession. This manual was produced by the Australian Optometrical Association Victorian Division as a reference manual for visual standards for use by optometrists asked to give such opinions.
