Description Of Item: Original green cloth cover, 131 pages, 64 black and white photographs in text. VOA library stamps and markings. Signature of Howard S Bell, a Melbourne optometrist prominent in Association affairs and optometic education 1920 to 1940.
Historical Significance: Frederic Woll PhD was sometime Assistant Professor in the Department of Hygiene of the College of the City of New York. He also had an association with the Southern California College of Optometry. He wrote 'Constructive hygiene' for the American Optometric Association 1926 and co-edited the proceedings of an International Congress on school hygiene 1914. He worked on syllabi for optometric education (First revision of optometrical syllabuses and standards, originally adopted at the first Conference to establish optometrical standards 1922) and co-authored a book retinoscopy (Dynamic skiametry; its theory and practice 1923 Cat # 514) and books on cell structure and this one on eye dissections. He also wrote 'Hygiene that optometrists ought know' 1921 Cat # 350.
