Historical Significance: George F Alexander (1861-1951) was a British ophthalmologist. MB CM 1883 Edinburgh University (1883). He wrote 2 books on the optical aspects of ophthalmology, this one and one on Ocular dioptrics and lenses published in 1934. He was not the most prominent of ophthalmologists of his period but was worthy enough to have a short obituary in Brit J Ophthal 1951; 35(4) 252.
