Historical Significance: Theodore Hamblin Ltd was a firm of dispensing opticians in Wigmore Street London. Theodore Hamblin (d1952) was highly regarded by ophthalmologists so much so his obituary was published by the Brit J Ophthal 1952;36;656. GB Patent No 167095 was granted to Gerald Henry Wingate on August 4 1921 for Improvements in or relating to ophthalmoscopes.
