Description Of Item: Black and white photograph 18.6 x 12.4 cm depicting the entrance to the Victorian College of Optometry buildings in Cardigan Street Carlton in 1960. Stamp on the back for Les Gorrie Photographer Press Public Relations Specialist
Historical Significance: This picture is of the Cardigan Street entrance to the College in 1960 (until 1990 when the entrance was moved to the corner of Cardigan and Keppel Streets.). The person holding the door open is probably Ms Anne Turnbull, a student at the time. The standing woman is Miss Meriel Wilmot, then the Secretary of the College. The other two people climbing the steps are Colombo Plan students from Burma.
