Description Of Item: Black and white photograph, 206 mm x 158 mm excluding white margins. The company whose name is being inserted is Martin Wells, at the time a succesful Australian spectacle frame manufacturer. Also on the Board are several optical supply companies, now no longer in business including Kennedy Optical supplies, York Optical, JR Beck, and Arthur Cocks.
Historical Significance: The establishment and recurrent funding of the NVRI in the early years was dependent on the support of optometrists who became members or governors, and optical companies. They were acknowledged on honour boards in the NVRI
