Historical Significance: Rosner was an academic optometrist who had a special interest in childrens' vision. This book was very influential setting mid ground between the views of the behavioural optometrists and those with more conservative views on the management of children. He worked at the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh and later taught and researched in the College of Optometry at the University of Houston. He also wrote Pediatric optometry (1992 Cat No 316) and was co-author of Vision Therapy in a Primary Care Practice The first edition of this book was published in 1975.
