The first page of typescript of each lesson is headed 'Correspondence course'. The lessons cover optics, optics of the eye, refractive states, retinoscopy and other subjects. The Lesson number is hand written on each wrapper. Lessons are numbered 1 to 12, with lessos 2 and 11 missing. Material is reproduced in duplicated typescript. Some have a serrated edge round sticker with the handwritten note 'Copyright AC and Co Ltd' Historical Significance: The origins and date of this material are unknown. AC and Co Ltd might be Arthur Cocks and Co Ltd a well known optical workshop and supplier of the first half of the 20thC. It may be a correspondence course for persons seeking to qualify for the Fellowship of the Victorian Optical Association. Condition: Fair.
