Historical Significance: The book reflects an aspect of the practice medicine in the late 19thC. Harris Ruddock was a medical practitioner, a member of the Royal College of Physicians and consulting physcian at Reading and Berkshire Homeopathic Dispensary. He wrote a great number of books on homepathic medicine and women's health and the health of infants and children, even a book on veterinary medicine. This book was first published in 1869 and had many editions of which this might be the last.
