Two sections Part 1 Light and Vision, Part 2 Electricity on the farm Historical Significance: The booklet was produced by the goverment owned State Electricity Commission of Victoria for promotional purposes. It was aimed for children aged 12 to 16 years as the second lesson on the subject of electricity and as preparation for the Commission's senior programme of visual education. The first 11 pages, Part 1, deal with the function of the eye, factors in seeing (size, brightness, contrast, time), why people lose good eyesight, how we see objects and colours, principles of lighting, types of lighting and examples of good and bad lighting.
